Rosa Negra Cancun – Good meal with a great view and ambiance!

The view outside on the decks is incredible! You MUST make an early reservation so you can watch the sunset!!!

As for the meal, we each had a cocktail from their list that were unmemorable. For an app, we did the grilled calamari. Neither of us had had it grilled before and it was more like grilled egg whites because they were left whole instead of cut into rings. For dinner we had the New York Strip “to share” -32oz! We ordered mashed potatoes and asparagus for sides – was ordering a second potato but thankfully the waiter told us the sides are enough for sharing. Very flavorful steak and cooked a perfect medium. We had 2 glasses of wine each with dinner- highly recommended you ask for this one if you like red wine.

They pushed for dessert but we were too full. I had our hotel concierge make the reservation and he told the restaurant it was our anniversary so then they brought us a free cake!

At 10pm on Saturdays they hand out sparklers to all of the guests and shoot off fireworks over the water. You should definitely do as we did and ask to move down to the lounge area to have a few more drinks and a cigar by the water while you wait for the festivities!

Service was a bit chaotic only because there were SO MANY waiters. Sometimes we ashes a question and the person didn’t understand English well enough but they would just find someone else to answer us. Overall a good experience as far as service and we were never left with a empty drink or lull in food.

Overall – 2 cocktails, 4 glasses of wine, appetizer, 2 sides and a gigantic steak put us back $185 USD before tip.

Would highly recommend!

This steak looks “normal” but its 32 oz and bigger than my face!
