We were able to take this sail boat out for a 3 hour excursion in Cabo San Lucas for a very reasonable price – $800 for 4 people. It included a full bar and a light lunch of sandwiches and chips. A group sailing with 40+ strangers was going to be $130 per person so we felt this was a great deal to pay a bit more for the privacy and custom experience!
We went the last few weeks of whale watching season and they told us that there was “a 60% chance” that we wouldn’t see whales. We were so pleasantly surprised. Seeing whales so close was INCREDIBLE!
Having a private boat meant we didn’t have to snorkel earlier in the day (the water was too cold). The crew kept our drinks full of rum punch at our request. We did end up snorkeling for a few minutes on the way back.
My only disappointment was we did not end up actually sailing. I’m not sure if its because of the part of the ocean that the whales took us and it wasn’t worth opening them up or what.
Overall it was a really good experience and we would definitely recommend this excursion!
